![]() You can easily specify whether to search locations only near your current location, near your destination, along the route, in a particular city, or anywhere in the whole map.īut the feature I like most so far (after only 1 day) is searching for My Places in the MyDrive app (on Smartphone or on Computer) and saving them to the cloud after which they automatically sync seamlessly to the SatNav. There are two ways of entering the address you are searching for: simple (which works exactly the same as the 6000 and just as fast) or advanced. With the GO 6200, updating via Wifi works so well. Updating via computer introduced an unnecessary additional bottleneck. I had been using a GO 6000 for several years, updating via USB cable. Thanks to the support team member who assisted with that! (The phone app draining the phone battery is something to keep in mind - basically do not use it and use the GPS device as a GPS device.) A dedicated device is quite useful, in my opinion, and TomTom software is quite good (the illustration of junctions coming up and lanes to drive on, etc.). I rate this around 4.5/5, with the decreased value from a 5 for the minor issues mentioned in the initial review and the somewhat bumpy start (resolution in a week is reasonable but one would like to have the proper product and service working out of the box or with a single iteration with the company). Support and TomTom recognise the sold service (Lifetime World maps, Lifetime Speed Cameras & Traffic Europe). UPDATE: the issue was apparently resolved satisfactorily. I am still in discussion with TomTom support and didn't lose all hopes to be provided what I bought, but at this stage, I'd say 'stay clear from that company'. The problem seems to lie entirely with TomTom that sells services that it decides to not provide. It is even physically identical with the GO Professional 520 Truck SatNav that is fully supported by TomTom. That is clearly stated on the product box and the device seems perfectly able to handle those services (it may need an additional memory card for storing several or large maps, which is not a problem). ![]() The advertised product and the product received is however correctly for The main issue is however that the device came with only three month subscription and Europe services, and that, even after talking several times with support, they only offer one year and Europe services. Arguably one only needs those a few times a year.Ī more disturbing problem is that the phone app is draining the phone battery. The access to service is also not very efficient and seems somewhat clogged. I now spent almost a week trying to get the advertised services provided by TomTom.Īs a minor issue the chatbot and the MyDrive Connect website are buggy and somewhat dysfunctional. So you can definitely download the app on your new phone" And yes, this app is compatible with Android 11,12, 13 and 14. This has improved some bugs that were pending since 2021. ![]() ![]() TomTom reported back by email "We had just released an app update for the MyDrive app for Android. Mine is a Galaxy S9 on Android 10 so was not relevant for me but I queried this. Checked the System icon and it shows as activated as in the 2nd attached photo.Ģ) Some users reported that the Go 620 would not work on smartphones later than Android 10. I used the Settings icon on the device as in the 1st attached photo and it reinstalled no problem. I have now activated the Lifetime Speed Cameras on your device." TomTom reported back by email "There seems to be a system glitch and the speed cameras were displaying as expired. Once I got past their horrible bot the service by email was excellentġ) Speed Camera Updates are supposed to be for lifetime but mine expired after 3 months. Some reviews on Amazon have reported problems but these have now been corrected by TomTom. I bought the Go 620 in July 2023, my 3rd TomTom having bought a 910 way back in July 2006 and a 6100 in August 2016. ![]()
